Reason #44 Not To Leave a Black Marker on the Floor!

We discovered that if we leave a black marker on the floor, we end up with a lion in the house! Why is it that a little one can be surrounded by toys, and still want to roll to wonderful things like markers and dirty flip flops (his favorite chew toys)? He may be a little stinker, but he sure is cute!

These Eyes...

Eli was in a very reflective mood when I took these pictures. I could get lost in those eyes!

You've Come a Long Way Baby!!! (or Pa Would Be Proud)

Mark has changed quite a bit in his choice of mowers during our eight years of home ownership.
Pictured below is his first mower purchase. He wanted to save money and the environment. We kept it approximately six hours and it went back to Home Depot.

We spent the big bucks on our next mower and bought a cheap model at Walmart. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of it before I sold it at a garage sale. We moved up to a self propelled mower, and Mark thought he was tough stuff!

When we made the big move to "the country", we decided we needed to upgrade again. Mark began researching his options. After searching the web, reading Consumer Reports, making spreadsheets, taking several trips to the tractor supply place and talking about lawn mowers continuously for a week, Mark ordered a John Deere. His dad was a huge fan of John Deere machines, but never had one, so Mark bought this one in his honor!

David, who turned out to be a homeschooling Dad, delivered the mower on Friday. Mark was almost giddy!

Mark hurried home from work, jumped on the mower, and spent the rest of the evening taming our three acre jungle. He was one happy man!
Having gone from a reel mower to a riding lawn mower, I can only imagine what is coming next.
